GST Filing in Lucknow
Online GST Return Filing assistance for businesses and individuals in Lucknow.
Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is a city of government offices, hospitals and universities, with the old markets of Aminabad, Chowk and Hazratganj and a craft tradition — chikankari embroidery and zardozi — known across the world. For a business here, GST compliance is a monthly operating process — invoices, e-invoices, GSTR-1, GSTR-2B reconciliation, GSTR-3B — and the cost of getting it wrong is blocked credit rather than just a late fee.
Tax VKV Group offers GST return filing online to businesses in Lucknow: you send the month’s sales and purchase data, we reconcile and file, and you receive the acknowledgement along with a one-page summary of tax paid and credit claimed.
Serving businesses in Lucknow online. Our team works from Noida, Uttar Pradesh — we do not run a branch in Lucknow. Documents are shared over WhatsApp or email and every filing is made on the official government portal.
GST return filing in Lucknow: what the work involves
A typical Lucknow business files GSTR-1 by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th of every month, issues e-invoices if turnover exceeds ₹5 crore, generates e-way bills for goods movement and closes the year with GSTR-9. Input credit is restricted to invoices your suppliers have actually reported, so reconciliation with GSTR-2B and the Invoice Management System is where most of the real work sits.
For businesses in Uttar Pradesh: the registration threshold is ₹40 lakh of turnover for goods and ₹20 lakh for services, quarterly filers under QRMP file GSTR-3B by the 24th of the month following the quarter, and anyone supplying to another state — or selling goods through an online marketplace — generally needs registration from the first sale.

GST in Lucknow: the local business picture
Chikan work is a distributed industry: a trader in Chowk or Aminabad gives cut fabric to printers, embroiderers in surrounding villages and washermen, and sells the finished garments to buyers nationwide and abroad. Each step is job work, mostly by unregistered artisans. As the state capital, Lucknow also has a great many suppliers and contractors to government departments, corporations and development authorities, and a growing layer of IT, healthcare and education service providers.
Chikan manufacturers and wholesalers
Job work by unregistered artisans, rate by garment value and IGST sales to other states.

Hospitals, coaching and IT firms

What matters for each kind of business
Wholesalers & Distributors. A distributor’s input credit has a shelf life. Credit on a purchase invoice must be claimed by 30 November after the financial year it belongs to, or it lapses — even if the supplier uploads the invoice later. Outward supplies are reported by HSN code, and once turnover crosses ₹5 crore every B2B invoice has to be an e-invoice. Old unmatched purchase invoices are therefore worth clearing well before the cut-off, not in the last week.
Contractors & Government Suppliers. Most works contracts for government departments and local bodies are taxed at 18%, and the first question on any tender is whether the quoted rate includes GST. The contractor charges tax on each running bill, claims credit on cement, steel and sub-contractors’ invoices, and reports the bill when it is raised or paid, whichever is earlier — not when the final payment or retention money eventually arrives.
IT & Service Companies. Service companies bill at 18% in most cases and their returns turn on three things: correct place of supply for out-of-state and overseas clients, reverse charge on imported software and services, and input credit on rent, subscriptions and professional fees. Export of services is zero-rated, but only if the conditions — including receipt of payment in foreign exchange — are met and documented.
What late or wrong returns cost
- Input credit not claimed by 30 November after the financial year is lost for good.
- A tender priced on an outdated tax rate, with GST “inclusive”, turns the difference into the contractor’s own cost.
- A wrong place of supply on a service invoice means tax paid to the wrong government and a refund process to fix it.
- Returns older than three years from their due date can no longer be filed at all, so an old backlog cannot be left to “sort out later”.
- Continuous non-filing leads to blocked e-way bills and eventually suspension or cancellation of the GSTIN.
How we file your returns
- Data in. You send the period’s sales and purchase bills — photographed bill books, an Excel sheet or a Tally, Busy or Vyapar export all work.
- Reconciliation. We match your purchases with GSTR-2B, list the suppliers who have not uploaded their invoices and work out the correct credit and tax payable.
- Your approval. You receive a short summary — sales, credit, tax to pay — and confirm it before anything is filed.
- Filing and record. Returns are filed before the due date and the acknowledgements are sent to you, with the next deadline already on our reminder list.

Searching for GST return filing near me from Lucknow?
When you search for “GST consultant near me” from Lucknow, what you actually need is someone who files correctly and on time — and GST filing has been a fully online process since day one. Returns are filed on the GST portal with an OTP or digital signature; no tax office visit is involved.
We are not located in Lucknow, and we do not pretend to be. Our team works from Patna and serves Lucknow remotely: documents by WhatsApp or email, questions by phone, filings on the portal. If your case genuinely needs someone physically present — a departmental visit to your premises, for example — we will tell you so plainly.
GST return filing in Lucknow: common questions
Job work by an unregistered artisan below the threshold carries no GST, and there is no general reverse charge on such payments. You simply have no input credit on them. Keep records of the fabric sent out and received back, since the goods remain yours throughout.
Credit on an invoice must be claimed by 30 November following the end of the financial year to which it belongs, or by the date the annual return is filed, whichever is earlier. After that it lapses, even if the supplier reports the invoice later.
Both, in sequence. The sub-contractor charges GST on his bill to you; you claim it as input credit and charge GST on your full bill to the department. If the sub-contractor is unregistered, you get no credit on that portion, which raises your cost.
Export of services is zero-rated: with a Letter of Undertaking you invoice without GST and can claim a refund of unused input credit. The conditions matter — the client must be outside India and payment must be received in convertible foreign exchange within the permitted time.
A late fee is charged for each day of delay on GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B (a reduced amount for nil returns), subject to caps linked to turnover. Interest at 18% a year is charged separately on any tax paid late.
Usually yes, in sequence and with late fee and interest — we compute the total before starting. But returns more than three years past their due date are now blocked on the portal, so a backlog should be cleared without waiting.
