FSSAI Registration in Ghaziabad
Online FSSAI Registration & Food License assistance for businesses and individuals in Ghaziabad.
Ghaziabad, the district of Uttar Pradesh on Delhi’s eastern border, is an old industrial city — Sahibabad, Meerut Road and Loni have large industrial areas — as well as a major residential extension of the capital, linked to it by metro and the rapid rail corridor to Meerut. With restaurants, cloud kitchens, packaged-food brands and distributors all operating side by side, the FSSAI category and the “kind of business” selected on the application matter as much as the licence itself.

FSSAI registration in Ghaziabad: which licence you need
The tier depends mainly on turnover — registration up to ₹1.5 crore, State licence up to ₹50 crore, Central licence beyond that or for importers and certain multi-state operations — and on the kind of business selected on FoSCoS. Each premises generally needs its own licence. Since April 2026 a licence or registration no longer expires, but the annual fee and annual return must be kept up or it is treated as suspended.
In Uttar Pradesh, as in every state, registrations and State licences are issued by the state food safety department through its designated officers and registering authorities, while Central licences come from FSSAI’s regional office. The whole process runs on the FoSCoS portal; an inspection, where ordered, is carried out by the food safety officer of the area.
The food trade in Ghaziabad and what the law asks of it
Ghaziabad has a strong food-manufacturing base — bakeries, confectionery, namkeen, dairy products and beverages — supplying Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh, along with the restaurants, sweet shops and cloud kitchens of its residential townships. Units are licensed by the Uttar Pradesh food safety department, and those that also hold a depot or outlet in Delhi come under the Central licence requirement for multi-state operations.
Bakery and confectionery units
Manufacturer licence, six-monthly testing and label compliance.
Restaurants and sweet shops in the townships
Licence by turnover for each outlet.

What applies to each kind of food business
Food Processing Units. What a processing unit prints on its pack is regulated as closely as what goes into it. The label must carry the name of the food, the ingredient list, nutritional information, the vegetarian or non-vegetarian mark, net quantity, batch number, the dates of manufacture and expiry or “use by”, the maker’s name and address, and the FSSAI logo with the licence number. Claims such as “natural”, “fresh” or “no added sugar” are allowed only where the product meets the conditions set for them.
Restaurants, Dhabas & Caterers. Each outlet is licensed on its own: a second branch, a separate kitchen that cooks only for delivery, or a banquet hall with its own kitchen needs its own registration or licence. Delivery platforms list an outlet only against an FSSAI number that matches its address, and the 14-digit number has to be printed on every bill. An eatery inside an airport or seaport comes under the Central licensing authority, whatever its size.
Packaged-Food Brands & Repackers. Beyond the mandatory panel, what a brand says about its product is regulated. Claims such as “natural”, “fresh”, “no added sugar” or “immunity boosting” are permitted only where the regulations’ conditions are met and evidence is held. Health supplements and nutraceuticals have their own category with ingredient limits. Online listings must show the same information as the physical label, and marketplaces remove products that do not.
What running without the right licence risks
- A product that is perfectly safe can still be seized and penalised as misbranded because of its label.
- A delivery platform delists a restaurant the day its FSSAI number lapses or stops matching the address.
- Misleading claims attract penalties that are far larger than those for a missing licence.
- Banks, landlords, marketplaces and government schemes for food units ask for the certificate as basic proof of a lawful business.
- The FSSAI number must appear on labels, menus, invoices and at the premises — buyers and platforms check it.

Questions about FSSAI registration in Ghaziabad
Not merely for supplying. Your unit is licensed where it is located, in Uttar Pradesh, and can sell anywhere in India. A Delhi licence is needed only if you also have premises there — a depot, a shop or a second unit — in which case a Central licence for the head office also applies.
At the least: the name of the food, ingredients in descending order, nutritional information, the vegetarian or non-vegetarian mark, net quantity, batch or lot number, the dates of manufacture and expiry or “use by”, the manufacturer’s name and address, and the FSSAI logo with the licence number. Very small packs have some relaxations.
Yes. Food businesses must show their 14-digit FSSAI registration or licence number on cash memos, bills and invoices, so that a customer can identify the operator and direct a complaint to the right premises.
Yes. E-commerce rules under food law require that the mandatory label information — and a legible image of the principal display panel — be available to the buyer before purchase. The seller, not just the platform, is responsible for its accuracy.
Registration is the simple tier for businesses with turnover up to ₹1.5 crore. A State licence applies above that up to ₹50 crore, and a Central licence beyond ₹50 crore and for importers and some multi-state operations. These limits apply from 1 April 2026.
A basic registration is usually granted within a few days to about a week if the documents are in order. A State or Central licence can take from a few weeks to about two months, depending on queries and whether an inspection is ordered.
