Ghaziabad, the district of Uttar Pradesh on Delhi’s eastern border, is an old industrial city — Sahibabad, Meerut Road and Loni have large industrial areas — as well as a major residential extension of the capital, linked to it by metro and the rapid rail corridor to Meerut. Returns from here tend to involve more than a single Form 16: job changes, HRA, stock options, capital gains and rental income often land in the same year.

For taxpayers in Ghaziabad our team works remotely — document check, AIS reconciliation, regime comparison, filing and e-verification, with one person answering your questions throughout.

Serving businesses in Ghaziabad online. Our team works from Noida, Uttar Pradesh — we do not run a branch in Ghaziabad. Documents are shared over WhatsApp or email and every filing is made on the official government portal.

Income tax return filing in Ghaziabad: what is involved

A typical return here means reconciling salary from one or more employers, interest and dividends from the Annual Information Statement, and any capital gains — then testing the old regime (HRA, home-loan interest, 80C, 80D) against the new one, where income up to ₹12 lakh is tax-free after rebate. Businesses and professionals add a choice between presumptive taxation and audited books.

Key dates: 31 July for individuals without business income, 31 August for business and professional returns not requiring audit, 31 October for audited cases, and 31 December for a belated return. Income earned from 1 April 2026 falls under the new Income-tax Act, 2025, which calls the year the “tax year”. Uttar Pradesh does not levy professional tax on salaries, so there is no such deduction to look for in your Form 16. For house rent allowance under the old regime, Ghaziabad falls in the 40%-of-salary category; the 50% limit applies only to eight notified metro cities.

Who files income tax returns in Ghaziabad

A large part of Ghaziabad’s population lives in Indirapuram, Vaishali, Raj Nagar and the newer townships and works in Delhi, Noida or Gurugram. Their returns are salaried returns with home loans. For rent paid on a house in Ghaziabad the HRA limit is 40% of salary, even where the employer is in Delhi. Factory owners in the industrial areas, with audited books, and the traders of the city’s markets are the business taxpayers.

Income tax by type of taxpayer

Salaried Professionals. Private-sector returns turn on details: two Form 16s after a job change (with the standard deduction and basic exemption counted twice by mistake), HRA where rent is paid, employer NPS, and stock options taxed first as salary and later as capital gains. Each needs to be traced through the Annual Information Statement.

Firms & Companies. A firm or company also collects tax for others. It deducts TDS on salaries, contractors, rent and professional fees — and, for larger buyers, on purchases of goods — deposits it by the 7th of the following month and files a statement every quarter. Its own advance tax is due in four instalments, in June, September, December and March. An expense on which TDS was skipped is partly disallowed, and a late TDS statement costs ₹200 for every day of delay.

Shop Owners & Traders. A trader’s return is read alongside two other records — the GST returns and the bank account — and all three should describe the same business. ITR-4 also asks for closing stock, debtors, creditors and cash in hand, which should be realistic. Two cash rules matter at the counter: no receipt of ₹2 lakh or more in cash from one person for one transaction, and, where books are kept, no deduction for a cash payment above ₹10,000 in a day.

What a careless return can cost

  • After a job change, both employers often give the basic exemption — leaving tax due at filing, with interest.
  • Thirty per cent of an expense is disallowed if tax was not deducted on it — far more than the TDS itself.
  • Accepting ₹2 lakh or more in cash for a single sale draws a penalty equal to the amount received.
  • The department already sees interest, dividends, share trades and high-value purchases in the AIS; an unexplained gap produces a notice.
  • Refunds are issued only after the return is filed, e-verified and processed — and only to a pre-validated bank account.

How we prepare your return

  1. First conversation. We note your sources of income and tell you exactly which documents are needed — no generic list.
  2. Reconciliation. Salary, interest, TDS and reported transactions in the AIS are tied to your records; any wrong entry is flagged for feedback on the portal.
  3. Regime and form. Old and new regimes are computed side by side, the correct ITR form is chosen and the draft is shared with you.
  4. File, verify, follow up. After your approval we file and e-verify, then track processing, the intimation and the refund.

Forty per cent. The limit depends on where the rented house is, not where the employer is. Ghaziabad is not among the notified metro cities, so the lower limit applies. The claim is available only under the old regime.

Income from both employers is combined and tax is recomputed, because each employer usually gives the full exemption and standard deduction. Any shortfall is paid as self-assessment tax before filing. Give us both Form 16s — or salary slips if one is missing.

In four instalments: 15% of the year’s tax by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and the whole by 15 March. A shortfall carries interest at 1% a month, worked out separately for each instalment.

No. Receiving ₹2 lakh or more in cash from one person in a day, for one transaction, or for one event is prohibited, and the penalty equals the amount received. Larger payments should come by bank transfer, cheque or UPI.

Yes. A revised return can be filed if you find an omission or error, within the time allowed after the end of the financial year. From the returns for FY 2025-26, revisions made after 31 December carry an additional fee.
