A food business in Gurugram cannot list on a delivery app, supply a supermarket or print a label without an FSSAI number. Gurugram, in Haryana on Delhi’s south-western border, is one of India’s main corporate and technology centres — Cyber City, Udyog Vihar and Golf Course Road house multinational offices — and, with Manesar, a base of the automobile industry.

Tax VKV Group offers FSSAI registration and licensing online to food businesses in Gurugram: we confirm the category, prepare and file the application on FoSCoS, answer any query from the authority and send you the certificate — then remind you about the annual fee and return.

Serving businesses in Gurugram online. Our team works from Noida, Uttar Pradesh — we do not run a branch in Gurugram. Documents are shared over WhatsApp or email and every filing is made on the official government portal.

FSSAI registration in Gurugram: which licence you need

The tier depends mainly on turnover — registration up to ₹1.5 crore, State licence up to ₹50 crore, Central licence beyond that or for importers and certain multi-state operations — and on the kind of business selected on FoSCoS. Each premises generally needs its own licence. Since April 2026 a licence or registration no longer expires, but the annual fee and annual return must be kept up or it is treated as suspended.

Registrations and State licences for premises in Haryana are granted by the state’s food safety authority through its designated officers; Central licences are issued by FSSAI’s own regional office. In every case the application, fee payment and certificate are on the FoSCoS portal, so no visit to the office is normally required.

Food businesses in Gurugram: who needs FSSAI

Gurugram’s offices and high-rise housing support one of the country’s densest food-delivery markets, so cloud kitchens and multi-brand delivery operations are everywhere, alongside the restaurants and bars of its commercial hubs and the cafeterias of large corporate campuses. Premises here are licensed by Haryana’s food safety department; chains that also operate in Delhi or Noida need a Central licence for the head office.

Multi-brand cloud kitchens

One licence per kitchen; every brand listed against that number.

Restaurants and bars

State licence for larger outlets, with the excise licence separate.

Corporate cafeteria operators

Site-wise licences required by facility managers.

Category and conditions, by type of food business

Cloud Kitchens & Online Food Sellers. Delivery-only kitchens are licensed like restaurants but inspected through their paperwork and their packaging. One licensed kitchen may run several menu brands, each listed on the apps against the same FSSAI number. Food sent out sealed should carry the kitchen’s details, and aggregators periodically audit hygiene. Orders taken through your own website or by phone fall under the same licence.

Restaurants, Dhabas & Caterers. Restaurants, dhabas, hotel kitchens and caterers apply under the food-service categories. Most single outlets now fall in the registration tier; larger ones need a State licence with a kitchen layout, a water-test report and a trained food safety supervisor. The licence number goes on the menu and bills, and the certificate on the wall.

Canteens, Hostels & Institutional Kitchens. Canteens in offices, factories, schools, colleges, hostels and hospitals are food-service establishments, whether run by the institution itself or by a contractor. Where a contractor operates the canteen, the contractor needs the licence for that location. Institutions increasingly write the FSSAI requirement into their canteen tenders.

What running without the right licence risks

  • A customer complaint on an app is forwarded with the kitchen’s FSSAI number attached.
  • Food safety officers inspect eateries more often than any other kind of food business.
  • Canteen and mess tenders are usually rejected at the technical stage if the bidder’s FSSAI licence is missing.
  • Operating a food business without a registration or licence is an offence under the Food Safety and Standards Act, with penalties that can run into lakhs of rupees.
  • Licences now continue without renewal, but missing the annual fee or return leads to automatic suspension.

How the application works, step by step

  1. Scoping. Activity, products, capacity and turnover are noted so that the tier and the kind of business are right the first time.
  2. Paperwork. We prepare the declaration, the product list and — for licences — the layout plan, equipment list and food safety plan with you.
  3. Filing and queries. The application is filed on FoSCoS; if the officer raises a query or schedules an inspection, we respond and guide you through it.
  4. Grant and upkeep. The licence is issued and shared; annual fee, annual return and any modification are tracked from then on.

FSSAI licence in Gurugram: common questions

Each outlet takes the licence of its own state — Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh respectively. Since the business operates in more than one state, the registered or head office must also hold a Central licence.

One — for the kitchen premises. The licence is for the place where food is prepared, and several brands can operate under it. A second kitchen at another address needs its own registration or licence.

Yes. Every eatery, however small, needs at least the basic registration. It is a short application with ID, photograph and proof of the place of business, and the certificate must be displayed.

The contractor who runs the canteen needs a registration or licence for that location. The institution should keep a copy on file, since it is responsible for allowing only licensed food operators on its premises.

Under the rules in force from April 2026, registrations and licences continue without periodic renewal. Instead, the annual fee must be paid and the annual return filed; if either is missed, the licence is treated as suspended until it is set right.

Generally yes — each premises where food is handled needs its own registration or licence. A business working in more than one state also needs a Central licence for its head office.
