GST Filing in Pune
Online GST Return Filing assistance for businesses and individuals in Pune.
Pune pairs one of India’s largest automobile and engineering clusters — at Pimpri-Chinchwad and Chakan — with a major IT base at Hinjawadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta and a long-standing reputation as a university city. For a business here, GST compliance is a monthly operating process — invoices, e-invoices, GSTR-1, GSTR-2B reconciliation, GSTR-3B — and the cost of getting it wrong is blocked credit rather than just a late fee.
For businesses in Pune our team works remotely — data in by the first week, reconciliation mid-month, filing ahead of the deadline, acknowledgement on your phone.
Serving businesses in Pune online. Our team works from Noida, Uttar Pradesh — we do not run a branch in Pune. Documents are shared over WhatsApp or email and every filing is made on the official government portal.
GST return filing in Pune: what the work involves
A typical Pune business files GSTR-1 by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th of every month, issues e-invoices if turnover exceeds ₹5 crore, generates e-way bills for goods movement and closes the year with GSTR-9. Input credit is restricted to invoices your suppliers have actually reported, so reconciliation with GSTR-2B and the Invoice Management System is where most of the real work sits.
For businesses in Maharashtra: the registration threshold is ₹40 lakh of turnover for goods and ₹20 lakh for services, quarterly filers under QRMP file GSTR-3B by the 22nd of the month following the quarter, and anyone supplying to another state — or selling goods through an online marketplace — generally needs registration from the first sale.
What the service includes, wherever you are in India, is set out on our GST Return Filing service page.
Who files GST returns in Pune
Vehicle makers and their vendors define Pune’s manufacturing GST: component suppliers in the industrial estates around Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bhosari and Chakan handle e-invoicing, job work, customer-owned tooling and frequent price amendments. The IT parks contribute service exporters claiming refunds. Engineering exporters, and the many training and education businesses of a student city — some exempt, most taxable — complete the base.
Auto-component vendors
Job work, tooling amortisation and supplementary invoices.
IT and engineering-service exporters
LUT and refund of accumulated credit.
Coaching and training institutes
Taxable at 18% unless the course leads to a recognised qualification.
What matters for each kind of business
Manufacturers & MSME Units. Manufacturing units deal with credit on raw material, capital goods and job work, plus e-way bills on almost every dispatch. Goods sent for job work must come back within the permitted time or tax becomes payable, and credit on capital goods has rules of its own. Above ₹5 crore turnover, every B2B invoice also has to be generated as an e-invoice.
IT & Service Companies. Service companies bill at 18% in most cases and their returns turn on three things: correct place of supply for out-of-state and overseas clients, reverse charge on imported software and services, and input credit on rent, subscriptions and professional fees. Export of services is zero-rated, but only if the conditions — including receipt of payment in foreign exchange — are met and documented.
Exporters. Refund of input credit on exports under a Letter of Undertaking is worked out by formula — export turnover as a share of total turnover, applied to the credit on inputs and input services — and credit on capital goods is left out of it, which surprises units that have just bought machinery. The claim is filed period by period within two years, with a statement linking each invoice to its shipping bill. Exports by post or courier count too, if the export declaration is on record.
What late or wrong returns cost
- For a manufacturer, wrongly taken or missed credit on raw material and machinery directly changes product cost.
- A wrong place of supply on a service invoice means tax paid to the wrong government and a refund process to fix it.
- A refund claim filed more than two years after the relevant date is rejected, however genuine the export.
- Returns older than three years from their due date can no longer be filed at all, so an old backlog cannot be left to “sort out later”.
- Continuous non-filing leads to blocked e-way bills and eventually suspension or cancellation of the GSTIN.
How we file your returns
- Scope and access. We agree the returns to be filed and set up view access or a data-sharing routine with your accounts team.
- Books-to-portal reconciliation. Sales as per books are tied to e-invoices and GSTR-1; purchases are matched to GSTR-2B and actioned in the Invoice Management System.
- Computation sign-off. A working with output tax, eligible credit, reversals and RCM liability is shared for sign-off.
- Filing and follow-through. Returns are filed ahead of the deadline; vendor mismatches and any system notices are tracked until closed.

Looking for “GST filing near me” in Pune?
A “GST filing near me” search in Pune will usually show directory listings. Before choosing anyone, near or far, ask three things: will they reconcile GSTR-2B before claiming credit, will you see the numbers before filing, and will you get the acknowledgement every time?
Tax VKV Group serves Pune online from its Patna office — there is no branch here. What you get instead is a fixed process: a data cut-off date, a summary for your approval, filing before the due date and a reminder before the next one.
GST filing in Pune — frequently asked questions
Yes. Private coaching and test-preparation are taxable services at 18% once the provider’s receipts exceed the threshold. The exemption for education covers schools up to higher secondary and courses that lead to a qualification recognised by law, not coaching for entrance examinations.
Generally yes — credit on capital goods used for taxable supplies is available in full in the month of receipt, provided the invoice is in GSTR-2B and you have not also claimed depreciation on the tax portion. Credit is restricted if the machine is used partly for exempt output.
Export of services is zero-rated: with a Letter of Undertaking you invoice without GST and can claim a refund of unused input credit. The conditions matter — the client must be outside India and payment must be received in convertible foreign exchange within the permitted time.
Not through the Letter of Undertaking route: the refund formula there covers credit on inputs and input services only. Credit on capital goods stays in your ledger and can be used against tax on domestic sales. Exporters with heavy capital spending sometimes choose to export on payment of IGST for this reason.
A late fee is charged for each day of delay on GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B (a reduced amount for nil returns), subject to caps linked to turnover. Interest at 18% a year is charged separately on any tax paid late.
Usually yes, in sequence and with late fee and interest — we compute the total before starting. But returns more than three years past their due date are now blocked on the portal, so a backlog should be cleared without waiting.
