Greater Noida is a planned city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, with industrial sectors at Ecotech, Surajpur and Kasna, a cluster of universities in the Knowledge Parks, a large exhibition centre, and fast-growing residential areas. Returns from here tend to involve more than a single Form 16: job changes, HRA, stock options, capital gains and rental income often land in the same year.

For taxpayers in Greater Noida our team works remotely — document check, AIS reconciliation, regime comparison, filing and e-verification, with one person answering your questions throughout.

Serving businesses in Greater Noida online. Our team works from Noida, Uttar Pradesh — we do not run a branch in Greater Noida. Documents are shared over WhatsApp or email and every filing is made on the official government portal.

What filing an income tax return involves in Greater Noida

A typical return here means reconciling salary from one or more employers, interest and dividends from the Annual Information Statement, and any capital gains — then testing the old regime (HRA, home-loan interest, 80C, 80D) against the new one, where income up to ₹12 lakh is tax-free after rebate. Businesses and professionals add a choice between presumptive taxation and audited books.

Returns for a financial year are due by 31 July for salaried and other non-business taxpayers, 31 August for business and professional returns without audit, and 31 October where a tax audit applies. From 1 April 2026 the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies and the year is called the “tax year”. Uttar Pradesh does not levy professional tax on salaries, so there is no such deduction to look for in your Form 16. For house rent allowance under the old regime, Greater Noida falls in the 40%-of-salary category; the 50% limit applies only to eight notified metro cities.

Income tax in Greater Noida: who files and why

Many Greater Noida residents bought their homes during construction, sometimes years before possession, and their returns carry the consequences: interest paid before possession, rent paid elsewhere in the meantime, and — where a flat was sold on — capital gains on a property right rather than a finished house. Faculty and staff of the universities, employees of the industrial units, and factory owners with audited accounts are the other regular filers.

Pre-possession interest claimed in five instalments; rent and home-loan claims together.

Owners of industrial units

Audit, depreciation and TDS.

Income tax by type of taxpayer

Salaried Professionals. For salaried people who invest, the return has grown beyond Form 16. Shares of a foreign parent company received as stock units must be listed in the foreign-assets schedule every year they are held, even when nothing was sold; dividends and sale gains on them are taxable in India, with credit for tax withheld abroad claimed through Form 67. Trading in futures and options is business income, reported with its turnover, not a capital gain.

Investors & Property Sellers. Gains on listed shares and equity funds held over a year are taxed at 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh; short-term gains at 20%. Property sold after two years is long-term: 12.5% without indexation, with an option of 20% with indexation for property bought before 23 July 2024. Reinvestment exemptions can remove the tax, but only with the right timing.

Firms & Companies. Businesses above the presumptive limits keep full books, and a tax audit applies once turnover crosses ₹1 crore — or ₹10 crore where cash receipts and payments are each within 5%. The audit report goes in a month before the return. Companies and LLPs file every year regardless of profit, and partners’ remuneration and interest have their own limits.

What a careless return can cost

  • Leaving foreign shares out of the foreign-assets schedule can attract a penalty under the black-money law even when no tax was due.
  • The rebate that makes income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free does not apply to capital gains taxed at special rates.
  • A tax audit report filed late draws a penalty of up to 0.5% of turnover, separate from any tax.
  • Banks and visa offices usually ask for the returns of the last two or three years, filed on time.
  • A return filed after the due date carries a late fee and interest, and some losses can no longer be carried forward.

How we prepare your return

  1. Documents in. You send Form 16 or income details, bank statements and investment proofs — photos over WhatsApp are fine.
  2. Cross-check. We download your AIS and tax statement and match every entry with your papers, so nothing is missed or counted twice.
  3. Computation for approval. You see the tax under both regimes, the refund or tax payable, and confirm before filing.
  4. Filing and e-verification. The return is filed, e-verified with Aadhaar OTP and the acknowledgement sent to you; we watch the refund status afterwards.

Questions about income tax filing in Greater Noida

What you sold is a right in the property, a capital asset. If held for more than two years from allotment it is long-term, taxed at 12.5%; otherwise the gain is added to your income. Instalments paid form the cost. The exemption for reinvesting in a house can apply to a long-term gain.

Three things. The value at vesting is already taxed as salary in Form 16. The holdings must be disclosed in the foreign-assets schedule of the return each year. And dividends or gains on sale are taxable in India, with credit for any tax withheld abroad claimed through Form 67.

If held for more than two years, the gain is long-term and taxed at 12.5% — or, for property bought before 23 July 2024, the lower of that and 20% with indexation. Buying another house or specified bonds within the time limits can exempt the gain. Send us both deeds and we will compute it.

Broadly, when turnover exceeds ₹1 crore (₹10 crore if at least 95% of receipts and payments are non-cash), when professional receipts exceed ₹50 lakh outside the presumptive scheme, or when a presumptive taxpayer declares lower profit with taxable income. The audit report is due by 30 September.

An intimation after processing is routine — it either confirms your figures or shows an adjustment. A defective-return notice or a query on mismatch needs a reply within the time given. Send us the notice and we will explain it and respond.

The fee is fixed and quoted in writing before we start, based on the type of income — a salary-only return costs less than one with capital gains or business income. The first consultation is free.
