What filing an income tax return involves in Noida Sector 57
For salaried staff the work is reconciling Form 16 with the Annual Information Statement, valuing ESOP perquisites and comparing regimes; for founders and consultants it is the choice between presumptive income and regular books, advance tax and TDS credits. Companies and LLPs file their own returns in ITR-6 and ITR-5 with audited accounts.
Key dates: 31 July for individuals without business income, 31 August for business and professional returns not requiring audit, 31 October for audited cases, and 31 December for a belated return. Income earned from 1 April 2026 falls under the new Income-tax Act, 2025, which calls the year the “tax year”. Uttar Pradesh does not levy professional tax on salaries, so there is no such deduction to look for in your Form 16. For house rent allowance under the old regime, Noida Sector 57 falls in the 40%-of-salary category; the 50% limit applies only to eight notified metro cities.

Income tax in Noida Sector 57: who files and why
Those who file from Sector 57 fall into three sets. First, the owners of its export houses and printing units — proprietors, partners and directors whose turnover usually brings a tax audit, and whose accounts must explain foreign receipts, duty drawback and other export incentives (all taxable as business income), job-work bills and contract labour. Second, the founders of the young companies and LLPs that have taken office floors here, for whom the questions are salary against dividend, loans to and from the company, and share options. Third, the employees of those offices and units, many of them living in the adjoining sectors, whose returns turn on Form 16, house-rent allowance and the choice of regime.
Owners of export houses

Founders of companies and LLPs
Salary, dividend and interest from the company — each taxed differently in the founder’s own return.
Office and factory staff
Form 16, rent receipts for a home in Noida and a comparison of the two regimes before filing.
Points for each kind of taxpayer
Firms & Companies. A firm or company also collects tax for others. It deducts TDS on salaries, contractors, rent and professional fees — and, for larger buyers, on purchases of goods — deposits it by the 7th of the following month and files a statement every quarter. Its own advance tax is due in four instalments, in June, September, December and March. An expense on which TDS was skipped is partly disallowed, and a late TDS statement costs ₹200 for every day of delay.
Founders & Startups. Founders usually have three tax positions at once: director’s remuneration from the company, the company’s own return in ITR-6, and shares or ESOPs that create perquisite and capital-gains questions. Eligible start-up employees can defer tax on ESOPs. Unlisted shares and foreign assets must be disclosed in detail in the personal return.
Salaried Professionals. For salaried people who invest, the return has grown beyond Form 16. Shares of a foreign parent company received as stock units must be listed in the foreign-assets schedule every year they are held, even when nothing was sold; dividends and sale gains on them are taxable in India, with credit for tax withheld abroad claimed through Form 67. Trading in futures and options is business income, reported with its turnover, not a capital gain.
Why filing the return properly matters
- Thirty per cent of an expense is disallowed if tax was not deducted on it — far more than the TDS itself.
- Directors and holders of unlisted shares cannot use the simple ITR-1 — filing it makes the return defective.
- Leaving foreign shares out of the foreign-assets schedule can attract a penalty under the black-money law even when no tax was due.
- Refunds are issued only after the return is filed, e-verified and processed — and only to a pre-validated bank account.
- The department already sees interest, dividends, share trades and high-value purchases in the AIS; an unexplained gap produces a notice.
How the filing works, step by step
- Scoping. We list every income head for the year — salary, business, capital gains, rent, foreign assets — and the schedules each one needs.
- Statements and workings. Capital-gains statements, broker reports, rent and loan certificates are converted into return schedules and matched with the AIS.
- Review. You receive a computation with the regime comparison, advance-tax position and any disclosure points to confirm.
- Filing and after-care. The return is filed and e-verified; intimations, defective-return notices or refund adjustments are handled until closed.

ITR filing in Noida Sector 57: common questions
A company director cannot use the simplest forms, ITR-1 and ITR-4. The return asks for your director identification number and for details of any unlisted shares you hold. Most salaried directors file ITR-2, or ITR-3 if they also have business or professional income. The salary itself is taxed in the usual way, with TDS deducted by the company.
In four instalments: 15% of the year’s tax by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and the whole by 15 March. A shortfall carries interest at 1% a month, worked out separately for each instalment.
Directors and anyone holding unlisted shares must use ITR-2, or ITR-3 if they also have business or professional income — never ITR-1 or ITR-4. The return asks for your DIN and the details of each company and shareholding.
Three things. The value at vesting is already taxed as salary in Form 16. The holdings must be disclosed in the foreign-assets schedule of the return each year. And dividends or gains on sale are taxable in India, with credit for any tax withheld abroad claimed through Form 67.
A belated return can be filed until 31 December following the financial year, with a late fee of up to ₹5,000 (₹1,000 if income is up to ₹5 lakh) and interest on unpaid tax. After that an updated return is possible for up to 48 months, at an additional tax cost.
Most refunds are credited within a few weeks of e-verification, once the return is processed. Delays usually come from an unvalidated bank account, a mismatch with the tax statement or an old outstanding demand that is being adjusted — all of which we check for.
